A magna cum laude graduate of Dartmouth College, Alex earned a B.A. in English with high honors and studied abroad at Columbia’s University’s Reid Hall in Paris. She was a National Merit Scholar, a Rhodes Scholarship Semi-Finalist, and a member of Phi Beta Kappa. In addition to work with College Prep 360, Alex is currently a Contributing Editor for both New York magazine and Rolling Stone and a frequent contributor to a number of national publications, including Glamour and Billboard. In 2014, she received a GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Magazine Article; and in 2016, her article “The War Against Planned Parenthood” was Rolling Stone’s submission for the National Magazine Awards (and was tweeted by Hilary Clinton). Alex brings her passion for writing and words to her editing--she particularly enjoys helping students craft memorable, moving, hilarious, and effective personal statements. Though Alex grew up in Birmingham, Alabama, she considers herself an almost-true New Yorker, especially considering that her son and daughter are really-true New Yorkers.
